It's a very nice area. It is very noisy though, but I guess you have to expect that when it's in a city next to a busy road and an airport. If you have a hard time walking at all, this is not the place for you sadly. The pond area down the road seemed nice though and a bit... More

We walked around the grounds and talked with the person inside the visitor center. The day we were there they had kids coming in and asking for clues for their next part. I am sure this was a camp geared for kids to keep them busy for their parents. The kids really enjoyed playing the game and kept them active.... More

Easy to find and free parking. The trail goes to both ends of the park and save the South end for last so you can spend time at the pond.

There are several nice hikes and with the pond and the visitor's center, it's always a fabulous place to take the kids. Pick a trail and just go, you will most likely see some wildlife. The visitor's center is really for the little ones, but that, plus the garden and smoke house and ice house and bee hives will give... More

In early June, I saw a hawk, a turtle and white-breasted nuthatch birds. If you come to Ellanor Lawrence park via Walney Rd. & Route 28, the 1st stop is the parking lot near the Mill. There is a pond for fishing (not sure what you could catch - it's quite small), and plenty of gravel-lot parking, picnic tables and... More

Some awesome hiking trails. This place is tucked away and a nice little escape from the hustle and bustle. Great to reconnect with nature, family hikes and if you like geocaching there are quite a few caches on these trails.

We go here every few weekends to walk in the woods. My son loves it here and is always asking to go. All the trails are pretty easy to navigate and is good for all ages. There is rarely a lot of people out on the trails which is really nice, it's close by and an easy escape from the... More

Nice walking/hiking paths in this area. There is a path that goes from the visitor's center to Walney Pond. Across the street from the pond is Cabell's Mill. From Cabell's Mill you can pick up a path that goes along Big Rocky Run. It's a beautiful, well-maintained path. Many folks go to Cabell's Mill to have wedding receptions or to... More

A great place for a short hike, a good nature center for elementary age kids. Fun local place to enjoy the seasonal changes.

Arts in the Park on Saturday mornings in the summer are GREAT!!! My three year old loves the events. We come for the Arts but stay for the nature. The show takes maybe an hour, then we need to spend another hour or more looking at all the nature. Turtles in a pool, snakes in the visitor center. What's not... More
