On our first day of vacation we enjoyed the paddle boating and swimming. Granddaughters ages 9 & 17 liked the swimming, going back and forth to the rafts. Adults enjoyed sitting in the Sun. There is a small snack shack, where we got lunch.

The lake is empty. Nothing to see. Not sure when it will open again. Disappointed. Apparently I have to add more characters to submit this review and I have no other comments.

Be careful, this lake was closed and drained by the US Army Corp of engineers during our visit. The Pines did not bother to warn us of this and we wasted an hour driving around back roads trying to find the entrance without realizing it...More

Yes, there are designated fishing spots or you could use the boat ramp to fish from a boat. You will need a Virginia fishing license.
