We stopped in here after reading reviews about how fabulous their fudge was. This is way more than a general store, it is a confectionary/gift shop plus cheese off the wheel, hand crafted chocolates, toys, kitchen items, U.S. flags, old stamps, and everything Vermont. The store is actually listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The staff was super friendly and very patient as we were trying to pick out a few of their fudges but there is a huge selection and it was hard to decide. This place is worth the trip and you don't want to miss it.

Looking for Vermont souvenirs on our day trip along the Molly Stark Trail. The 1836 General Store fit the bill with lots of items (not just VT souvenirs) with some at very good prices. Also had Vermont cheese, fudge, and maple products.
