Unexpectedly we saw the advisement of this showing and bought tickets - $20 each for front and center. Showing held in the Town Hall Theater which is a nice old building with character. The cast did a good job and held our attention throughout the show.

I have seen every play for the last few years and absolutely love this. Every play is a gem. Performers are from all over, amazing talent has settled in Vermont, Have never been disappointed. Want them to do the Santa land diaries.

The play, Dogfight, was so very well done. We had no idea about the play nor the quality of the performers when we ordered the tickets. The result was a remarkable surprise. The local talent players did such an impressive performance, the Town Hall theater venue in the middle of town was also very interesting, and the audience were mostly tourists and friendly locals.

The Stowe Theater Guild has consistently excellent community theater. Lots of talent in this summer's production of Chicago. The band was superb. The singing was rich and full of emotion. Great singing and dancing. Nice local touch in the concessions with hard cider from a local business. The chairs are quite comfortable and the air conditioning works well. Nice all round community theater experience.

Third time (over several decades) was the charm seeing Jesus Christ Superstar. My wife and I agreed this was easily the best production of it we'd seen since it's introduction in the 70s. The merging of very high performance values plus an approximately 10-row 2-aisle proscenium theatre made for an intense, high energy, impactful production. The actor/singers used small very clean-sounding head-mics, the set was minimal, and the time felt extremely contemporary. My preference for aisle seats especially paid off as several scenes involved the passage of the actors from stage to lobby and back. Very powerful feeling and hearing the live voices so close. The production has closed, so it's no give-away that Judas was played by a female to extreme effect. I felt she conveyed the character's conflicting emotions and motives better than I've seen before. Parking for the theatre is all around Stowe's Main St and side streets and free after 6pm. My only regret is not being there for the current production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (smiles).

Saw Jesus Christ Superstar while on vacation in Stowe and it was very good. A complex musical production to reproduce, but the Stowe Theater Guild did a really great job. Perfect night out to complement our week.

The cast was enthusiastic and talented. The setting was idyllic- set in the sweet little town of Stowe, with ample restaurants and bars nearby for pre-show dinner/drinks. And walking into the town hall, and up the old stairs, to enjoy a show in a room setup with chairs-- really fantastic. Felt like an episode of Gilmore Girls or Newhart- small town charm with lots of talent to boot. We had a great time- we would love to go to back.
Only negative was the partnering with Boyden valley who is selling wine at $9/glass and the wine was just ok. The pour was generous but make sure to get your drinks ahead of time at those prices.

What a nice venue, the theater is in the city Hall building in central which is a beautiful wood rich environment. The upstairs is the theater, they use very comfortable free standing chairs that are a wider seat with good cushioning (I think the quality of the seating is important). The production aspect of the play was very smooth and high tech. No glitches and the music flowed through the hall smoothly. The band was flawless and the acoustic where great. The play itself was of a high quality and there were no bad voices or actors. All in all a delightful night in Stowe.

We saw Pirates of Penzance. It was immensely enjoyable. Sometimes, with "small town" theatre you take your chances on the quality; and we were prepared to be indulgent. But this performance was totally professional and competent. We will definitely return.
