A great hike, challenging but durable. Don’t let it scare you not to do. We are in our late 50’s and did it. Can be very muddy in some areas. You will have to climb up some rocks that are difficult at least for me but just take your time. Totally worth the time and effort. Take a lunch sit on the rocks and enjoy the view.

We parked at the pinnacle meadow lot (had a porta-john). We were there about 9:30am and by the time we got back it was filled (~11:30). Great hike with lots of shade and some scrambles although if there was rain in the last day or two watch for muddy areas. The only complaint would be that over 50% of the dogs on the trail were off leash- most seemed nice but it’s irresponsible of the owners considering there are people who are terrified of dogs and other leashed dogs may not be friendly to the off leash dogs

We parked up in the Pinnacle Meadows parking lot. The hike starts off easy, but turns pretty intense as it goes on. It was WELL WORTH the climb! The views were AWESOME! Based on the start of the trail, I left my poles in the car. Big mistake. I wish I had them.

Great hike with an amazing view at the end. We did the moderate hike and it was not easy but was doable.

I would rate this as a moderate to difficult hike depending on your experience, but really, anyone can do this hike with some perseverance, water and breaks along the way. The parking lot is right off the road; we went on a weekday and arrived before 9:00AM, so there was only one other car in the lot when we arrived. The trail starts off level at first and then once it starts its uphill incline, it basically continues like that to the summit. Large stones/boulders placed along the path as steps was a great help. Paths were well marked and as it is a well-traveled path, it is easy to follow. We reached the halfway point (where it intersects with the path from the Meadow lot) in about 40 minutes, and then it took perhaps another half hour from there to get to the summit. The summit provides 360-views of all the various mountains in the area - absolutely gorgeous! Quite windy at the top, so bring a long-sleeve/jacket if you plan on loitering up there. If you're tight on time or you don't want so hike uphill for quite so long, you can park in the Meadow Lot, which cuts out about a mile and leads you through a flatter path lined with grass and wildflowers.

My husband and I are both experienced hikers, and we very much enjoyed this hike. The trail is well-maintained and the views at the top were beautiful. The only caution I will give is that (to us) it was more difficult than the "moderate" rating it was given by the brochure at our hotel. We were a bit curious when we saw the suggested time of 3 hours for what amounts to a 3 1/2 mile hike, but didn't give it much thought. Now we know! Several sections were pretty muddy, and there were also a few sections where scrambling over rocks was called for. Still totally worth it - just know that good hiking shoes are recommended and the suggested time is pretty accurate (at least for some).

Excellent hike-spectacular views at the top. Started at Upper Meadows parking lot. Hiked through mountain meadow area to join up with the trail to the summit. Lots of rocks to scramble and navigate at upper part of trail. It’s a popular hike so going early is a must. Would rate as moderate due to rocky nature of upper trail. Definitely a hike worth doing while in the area.

Sturdy hiking shoes are a must, the trail was muddy and icy in places. It was worth it, the views from the top were spectacular. We met one of the “Pinnacle dogs”!

We were early arrivals to the tiny parking lot at the trailhead. The walk starts gently through a dense marshy meadow, then gradually ascends through forest. About 2/3 of the way to the top it becomes quite steep; the average grade is close to 20% (1500 feet in 1.5 miles). Once at the top you are rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view of the entire valley.

Well worth the 2.5 hours round trip. It was a dog party at the top by the time we left; it seems everyone wanted to take their pup up to the top.
