Having grown up in a Midwestern town where Robert Frost often visited, and driving south on 7a from Manchester on our way to Salem, Mass, this was a "must" stop. It was a crisp, late November morning. The Museum itself was closed for the season, and it was weeks after "Apple Picking" but the field stone foundation and red clapboard... More

Perhaps that is a good thing - to want more - after a visit. Essentially 3 rooms of the house are open -- the kitchen is where you buy your tickets. There is a living room with a large fireplace and storyboards around the walls with photos and an outline of Frost's life and the life of his family. The... More

Very disappointed to find that it was closed after we drove two hours to get there. No info on website to the contrary; it was supposed to be open. Don't go without making sure they are not closed.

We visited the Robert Frost house in early October. Normally the house is open Wednesday through Sunday, but in October, it is open every day. The house is now a museum, with some pieces of furniture and other items from Frost's time there. We especially liked the "Stopping by Woods" poem room, where the walls were covered with articles from... More

I didn't actually go INSIDE the house, but I did stop long enough to walk around the grounds and take some pictures. It is picturesque.

Because I'm a fan I was willing to overlook some of the deficiencies others have identified. I wouldn't argue with any of those deficiencies. I was willing to read and study to extract tidbits of information. It's there. Where he grew up and where he lived at different times in his life. His marriages and children. Why trees and woods... Stopped in on way by on a Sunday. Three rooms of panels of pictures, poems, family history in downstairs of house where Robert Frost and his family lived 100 years ago. $5.00 for seniors is enough to pay for what it is. Self guided. Grounds are pleasant. Nice short stop. Took us 45 minutes to do it comprehensively.

The museum was small, but interesting. The staff person at the desk, however, was so surly that it spoiled the visit, the only stop we made for pleasure on our trip. Everyone has bad days, perhaps that was it, but it was poor timing for us.

We felt they could have done more with the house to make it more exciting but there is a lot of great history about Robert Frost and his works. Some nice memorabilia. Very reasonably priced. We did have a nice picnic on the grounds.
