This is a hike you do not want to miss. On a clear summer day, there is no other place to be to feel like you are on top of the world. Green trees and meadow for miles. You can see to Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks in the west to the Jay and Mount Washington in the North and... More

This is my favorite mountain hike. Having no auto road to the summit gives it a different ambiance than those with roads. Many routes to the summit, I like the eastern approach on the Monroe Trail the best.

OK, I'll admit that we were a little unprepared mentally for a six, yes, six hour round trip expedition on the Monroe Trail. We are by no means serious hikers. Luckily, we were dressed appropriately (gorgeous day over Columbus Day weekend) and we had plenty of food. The trail was much longer than expected, so we did plop down halfway... More

Camels Hump is Vermont's second highest mountain and a stop on the Long Trail. Great views and a variety of hikes from easy to challenging.

One of the best hikes in the state. Numerous trails from different towns. When you reach the top you have earned it. No toll road to drive up :-). A great foliage hike.

We took the Burrows trail up 2.4 miles to the summit trailhead which was another .03 miles to top. This whole climb up and down took us about four hours and was moderately challenging both ways mostly because it is a very rocky trail so care must be used. The view from the top is magnificent. It's a rocky 360... More

We were there for July 4th, arrived in the parking lot just before 10 a.m. The lot was already pretty full. The hike up took 2 hrs for us to do, with a few short water breaks about every 30-40 minutes. We spent about 40 minutes at the top, and the hike down was 1 hrs 45 minutes. It was... More

This was a fantastic hike to do. The trails were really well maintained, and overall, the hike was fairly easy although strenuous. Despite that, it's worth the effort to get up to the summit! The view from the top is outstanding! Highly recommended if you're in the area and want to go on a hike.
