The staff are 5 star. The course could and should be great but:
1. the hard scapes and infrastructure (cart paths, signage bathrooms) are sorely in need of a total restoration.
2. Drainage is poor throughout, impacting fairways, bunkers, greens.
3. Greens are in mediocre shape and the sand traps are full of rocks, and obviously poorly maintained.
4. Clubhouse is a total dump and restaurant is lousy.
5. Scenery from course is beautiful but there is minimal esthetic landscaping. Not a flower in sight.
Just played a similar style, nearby course-Fox Run—which was fantastic and shows just how crappy Equinox golf has become and how nice it could be if somebody actually cared.

We stayed at the Equinox last weekend and regrettably have to say one of the worst experiences. Multiple issues starting at check in and continuing through the weekend. Worst part is that took manager days to call and when he promised to call back never heard from him again.
It is living in its past glory. Not worth the price.

Enjoyed the experience but not as much as we had expected for the price. The course was a challenge. No beverage cart or restaurant. We paid for a can of beer in the pro shop after the game.

My wife and I had a visit planned to the hotel and played this course on May 19th and could not agree more with the previous post “Undisclosed construction; poor value”. Three temporary greens and all aerated greens plus other construction on some holes did not seem to merit the greens fees charged. We asked for some sort of discount and were each given $10 off which wasn't much, but after traveling for 2.5 hours to get there it was not worth the argument for more. We had planned to have lunch at the course before our round but were also told the the restaurant would not be open until Memorial Day. They did have a beverage cart going around so that was a plus, however $6 for a can of Bud Light seemed high. We have played this course before and enjoyed it so were anxious to get back however the day was a bit of a disappointment overall

Played this course on the last day of a golf trip in VT. Expected it to be up to the same level as the associated resort, and consistent with the high price, but it was not. Three holes are under construction, and the greens are being aerated, none of which is stated on the website or while booking. When we brought this up, we were told that “we could have chosen not to play when we arrived.” Really, the suggestion was that, after booking the round, driving there with friends, and paying for the round, we should have just chosen not to play! We explicitly asked for a partial refund, which was rejected.
The course will be nice when it is fully reopened, and it has a nice layout, but at the moment it is misleading and a terrible value. Head up to Neshobe or any of the other great courses in VT; better golf for less $.

Had a great round of golf on a Thursday afternoon. Course was sold out starting at 3:00 but empty beforehand (when the rates go down. Spend the extra bucks and get out - told me 2.5 hours to play 18. Course was in great shape, it had rained so greens a bit slow, but overall a fair course. A few traps could use a bit more sand, but was not terrible. Look forward to playing again.

Beautiful course with memorable holes, excellent conditioning and friendly staff. It plays up and down hills with scenic holes galore. A great morning round was the perfect start to an active day. Deserts for no driving range and limited pro shop.

We have played this beautiful course in Manchester, VT, since the late 1980's and it is one of our favorite courses in Vermont.
The complete refurbishment of the vintage Walter Travis course 1in 1992 greatly enhanced the drama and challenge of a classic New England layout tucked in a valley walled in by mountain ridges. Every hole has a marvelous view of the mountains surrounding Manchester. Almost every hole is a challenge. .
No1 hole is downhill par 4. A good start. No's 2, 3, 4 all have elevated greens. No 5 is a short severely downhill par4. where you have to land the ball short of the green and let it jump or roll on to the green which slopes to the back. No 7 is a par 5 where your second shot is uphill and crosses a well traveled road. The green is elevated. No 8 is a par 4 with a downhill tee-off, and the second shot to a severely elevated green. No 9 is uphill all the way to the clubhouse. No 10 is a downhill dog-leg right, with a flat second shot. No 12 is a par four with an elevated green. No 13 is a long uphill par 4, with a severely elevated green. No 14 is a short downhill par 3. No 15, a par five, starts downhill, then goes uphill and with a dog-leg right, but with a good tee-off you can reach a plateau, from where you have a downhill view of the green. No 16 is a LONG par 3, uphill. Use plenty of club. No 18 starts flat and then there is a generous elevated green with a false front.
Enjoy the views and play well.

We played the course with the fear of rain and thunderstorms hanging over us, and indeed played in pretty heavy rain for 4 or 5 holes. The rain was hard enough to not only make us cold and feel unpleasant, but many of the dirt cart paths had rivulets of water running through it. With that said, we otherwise enjoyed the course. You feel like you are right in the middle of beautiful Vermont greenery, and that was wonderful. There was a lot of similarity to many of the holes, moving back and forth in different directions. Lots of sand throughout. Very little water, with only 1 pond on one hole, which really didn't come into play. A number of places where you have up hill and down hill, and side hill lies. Would I play it again: yes. Is it one of my favorite courses: no.

Hard course with some narrow fairways and thick rough but well worth it! Views of mountains can be distracting!
