Under the stewardship of a dedicated board and the vibrant leadership of the Museum Director Danny Lichtenfeld the exhibits are of the well curated with thoughtful intuition by Mara Williams and others, The once a year Lego Competition engages the community with creativity and this architect reviewer delights in the opportunity to be a judge of the highly creative work!

BMAC is an amazing place with exhibits one expects at a much larger museum and/or art center. We are there often, and there is ALWAYS something to stimulate discussion and thought.

In planning our trip to Brattleboro we saw that we were in town for the exhibit. The set up was beautiful and when it was toppled it was beautiful. It took 2 days to set up and three minutes to knock down. This was well worth watching.

This Museum is on the top floor of Brattleboro Train Station, where passengers would buy tickets, wait for the trains, and exit an overhead walkway over the tracks. Though the walkway no longer exists, one gets great views of the tracks, the Connecticut River, and New Hampshire. The marbled floor, beautiful woodwork, and Ticket Office Counter are still in excellent... More

The museum was a phenomenal place to have our wedding ceremony and reception. The backdrop of well-curated art was perfect and fun for our large (170-person) event; the white marble steps leading up to what had been ticket booths when the building was a train station were a superlative place to hold our ceremony and easily be seen and heard... This museum is in a beautifully maintained train station, a delightful example of adaptive reuse. The old ticket area is now a children's room. They have various small exhibits ( no permanent collection) and when we visited the two main exhibits are each provocative and ones I won't forget. One was about guns; the other was a photography exhibit about... More

Brattleboro's Railroad Station was converted in 1972 to an interesting Museum of Arts with tours, functions. Mara Williams, the Chief Curator, through her Labor of Love, has turned this museum into a bucket list place to visit when in Brattleboro!

I love this little museum for many reasons. It doesn't have a permanent collection so the shows are changed regularly and are always fresh, interesting, beautiful and sometimes challenging, I always enjoy the aesthetics of their exhibits, meaning that the art either informs, inspires, or simply transports the viewer. Once there was a show where I think every work of... More

I recently visited this quaint museum that was coverted from an old railroad station that just celebrated its 100th birthday. The party was a huge success with a live band outside on the front lawn and the birthday cake and cupcakes were delicious. They had an interesting exhibit on gun owners.

The Museum is located in the former railroad station in Brattleboro adjacent to the Connecticut River. There were interesting architectural plans which gave one some sense of the glorious history of rail travel. The exhibits change from time-to-time, so you may want to check before you go. Entrance fee was reasonable and discount for seniors. Worth your time on a... More
