We had seen this place listed in a bunch of travel guides, so we sought it out. When we arrived we found the house closed and deserted. The guide books had described the grounds as worth visiting in their own right, but the place was...More

We were very disappointed when we arrived that the house was not open to the public for viewing. We were able to walk around the grounds which were very lovely. The house it self looked like it would have been interesting to see inside.

The Park-McCullough house was built by a gold rush millionaire in 1865, lived in for a century, and basically abandoned by the family. As a result, it is a kind of time capsule. All the interior is original, as are the furnishings, paintings, and so...More

The house was built in 1865 and was the state of art in its time with central heating and hot and cold running water. The house stayed in the family for the next 100 years and most of the furnishings have been left and are...More

We spent quite awhile looking for the mansion based on Tripadvisor's map and directions - finally gave up. Turns out, the Park-McCullough house is located in NORTH Bennington, a totally separate town. So before you set out for your adventure, check other sources for directions,...More
