We stopped by the monument after lunch on a nice sunny day. There are two statues and the large, towering monument. It is simple and well-done. Good for a 15 minute visit.

We saw the obelisk before knowing what it was. We subsequently read up on it. It is impressive and worth a visit if you're in Bennington.

This monument is visible from many points in Bennington and vicinity. Interesting detail, the Battle did NOT take place in Bennington VT. The actual battle was about 10 miles West in Walloomsac, New York. The battle was in 1777. Ride to the top is via elevator. There is a charge. Nice VT Trinket/gift shop at base.

Classic Vt. Residential street. Monument is lovely and the drive to it through historic Vt. Should not be missed. Do not take the bypass, stay on route 9 and stop at shops and restaurants in the historic town before or after skiing.

The Bennington Battle Monument is a large obelisk monument that commemorates the Battle of Bennington. The monument is historic in itself. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum in the bottom of the monument is very small, but has tons of great information. Look on the calendar for the special days where you can climb the stairs, it's... More

This is an interesting point of interest. It's pretty straight forward. It's a monument. No more. No less.

Stopped off at the monument on our way from Burlington to Williamstown. Interesting site with a lovely little gift shop. Staff were very friendly. Views from the top were incredible, although being in the lift was not so great :-)

A nice drive up to Vermont through Route 7 from Albany. Do this trio about once a year and this always seems to be the end result. Sitting outside the monument on a nice day and have lunch.

We couldn't access the monument, and the shop was closed for the season, but we enjoyed walking around it and seeing the statues of the main characters of the Battle of Bennington, John Stark and Seth Warner. You can see the monument from all ver town, so we used it as our landmark when driving to other places.

This monument marked the spot where the NH regiment came to the assistance of the VT green mountain men in August 1777 to cut off the red coats' supply line, leading to their defeat at Saratoga a few weeks later (more or less...) This monument is easy to drive to and has a nice grassy area for children to run... More
