We went there when there were no race. There were almost anybody. You don't know how to get safely on the salt lake. You should'nt get thre with your rental car.

My husband was absolutely enthralled. A VW had set a new land speed record for its class the previous week, and we watched as VW made a commercial showcasing that model. It, took awhile to get started because the ambulance was delayed. But the fire...More

Excellent time! Great people, hot weather, entertainment. What more could you ask for? My husband and I wanted to go for years and we drove all the way from Alberta for it! It will be an annual event for us from now on!

There wasn't anything going on when I visited which may have contributed to my disappointment. What I saw was Salt Flats that were dirty looking, littered and a sign about the Flats which has been heavily spray-painted with graffiti.

Just white flat land one would think...but, wow... legends where built there. Even if there is not much to see there (when nobody is racing its vehicle), the place is still amazing. All this white flat land, as far as your eyes can see. And...More

I know if the flats are too wet world of speed gets canceled but it is so beautiful when there is water on the salt. It was only 80 today but the sun was bright and the reflection intense. It felt pretty darn hot.

About an hour and a half outside SLC off of I-80. It is free and you can pull off the highway to a rest area that provides car access to the flats if your car can handle it. We left our car in the lot...More
