Well worth the time to stop as you travel through St. George. Located in the heart of St. George the Tabernacle is closed for the next 16 months for structural upgrades. Many great little shops in the area such as Judd's for treats and homemade bread sticks and your favorite old time soda and candy. Great area to walk around... More

Historic LDS (Mormon) Tabernacle. No admission charge. You may just go in and visit, or wait for a guided tour. You may wish to visit the LDS (Mormon) St George Temple as well. Nice visiting center there.

I did not know before hand that the Tabernacle was closed for repairs so we were sadly disappointed when we arrived at the location only to see scaffolds and fencing around the entire building. Would have liked to do the tour.

My husband and I visited St. George sans kids and decided to hit the historic sites. The tabernacle is a FREE historic site that is still used for concerts and speakers. I wished we had planned ahead and checked the performance calendar. We just popped in, which was fine. We were able to go on a tour given by an... More

The Tabernacle towers over the area, and is seen for miles. It is beautiful, and stands alone in the residential neighborhood. You can walk around the cathedral, and take a tour conducted by young people from different areas of the world. It is really a worthwhile experience.

The St George Tabernacle is a beautiful old building. There was a mission couple who did a little tour and shared some great history about the building and in fact, the area as a whole. I love history of all kinds and as Utah is "Mormon Country" it seems only reasonable that they would be the experts in the region.... More

If you are a history buff, this is the building that will help explain why those early pioneers came to this area. It is a beautiful building with a beautiful setting. Located at the edge of St. George's town square and children's museum, it is an excellent location.
