A few years ago, I started Rock Climbing. When I graduated from the gym, the first place I went outside to climb was Rock Canyon. It is beautiful. Not only is it a great place to climb, it is also a great place to hike. There is some wildlife - birds, mountain goats, chipmunks- to see. I've met people while... More

I've been up Rock Canyon countless times since 1991. Whether going for a short hike of a few hours, or an all day hike, I always find something new to enjoy. The scenery is always fantastic -- winter, spring, summer or fall.

While this isn't the prettiest place I've been, it's a wonderful area with plenty of awesome things to look at. You can go straight up the trail for just about as long as you want and will be next to the creek for a good part of the time. It's also fun for bouldering and rock climbing. I've been here... More

I have gone to this place many times. For rock climbing, taking a walk, or to camp. There are really pretty, secluded places along the trail that are great for camping or having a fire with friends. And it has many great areas for rock climbing! Really like this place. You do not have to pay anything to enter.

We are fairly new to climbing and this is a great location for outdoor climbers. There is top-roping and lead. Plenty of routes. Very accessible. Overall, a super fun place!

I love the ease and accessibility to hiking trails in Rock Canyon. There are hiking routes appropriate for families and more challenging for the avid hiker. Hiking in the fall is especially nice with the changing colors of foliage and fresh, crisp air.

Wasn't able to hike very far in. That being said the views leading into the canyon were stunning. I want to make another trip to Utah just finish what I started.

My husband and I have lived in provo for just about five years and finally got around to visiting rock canyon and hiking squaw peak. We backpacked up to the clearing just shy of the peak and spent the night. It was a bit of a steep hike with our heavy backpacks but was absolutely beautiful and well worth the... More

The thing I like about Provo is that the wilderness is just walking distance away from the city. So you don't need a car at all to visit the mountains. There are 3 good access points to the mountain country: Slide Canyon, Y trail and Rock Canyon. Hiking up the Rock canyon is like taking a stroll from the subtropic... More
