About
**The Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple is closed for reconstruction** Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

I have not been inside because I was never "Temple worthy" and don't get me started on the LDS in Utah. You cannot go inside unless you are LDS and approved - so don't do that if you are just sightseeing.

However, its a very pretty Temple outside, and this photo is in the winter, but I went when it had pink roses all over!

The LDS Temples are usually pretty, with very pretty grounds. You just can't go in unless you are LDS an approved to do so.

I used to have photos but do not anymore unfortunately. But in the summer, it was surrounded on the grounds by all these gorgeous pink roses.

I stopped by because I had an organ lesson nearby.

May I also add that when I left, I was tailed by some vicious cars and almost run off the road - never figured out why but I had Colorado plates at the time.

Anyway, if you visit Provo this is pretty and near campus.

I went with my cousins for the first time in over 35 years at this Temple. It is beautiful as always.

The grounds are well kept and the temple so beautiful especially when it is lit up at night. Anyone visiting should go feel the spirit of this sacred building as you walk around the grounds.

This place looks like Minas Morgul in the morning. They probably torture people in there too, just like Minas Morgul

If you're not familiar with the temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), no visitors are allowed in the temple, so the only thing to see are the gardens and fountains on the grounds. The temple sits on the bench of the Wasatch Front so there's a nice view of Utah Lake and the mountains on the other side. Other than that, there's no visitor's center, so you'll be done looking at it in 10 minutes.

Walked over to the temple (uphill from the downtown area). Although I am not LDS and prohibited from visiting the interior, I was still able to appreciate the unique architecture of this modern structure. The grounds are impeccably maintained and several walking paths circle the temple. The mountain backdrop could not be any more beautiful. I had the good fortune to meet a young man who was about to enter the temple and I asked him some questions which he was gracious and most patient in explaining to me.

Only recommend holders may go inside but all others are free to visit the beautiful Temple grounds. Perhaps you might meet a Mormon who in reality is a regular guy who belongs to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints

This Temple offers you a wonderful experience. The grounds are quiet and peaceful. In the back on the Temple grounds is a little area where you can sit and admire the landscape. It's beautiful. It is nice to sit there during a lunch or in the cool evening.

This is an attractive building with lovely gardens and a stunning backdrop. Apparently the original temple bunt down about five years ago, and they have rebuilt the new one as an exact replica of the original. The day that I was there lots of weddings were taking place. I was made welcome had had some interesting conversations with the locals there.

The temple is torn down. Not sure why. June 12 I stopped by and was sad. Also, the park on the hill is torn down too. I hope they hurry up and fix this place...
