About
Historic Park City is the gem among riches. Nestled in the valley flanked by Park City Mountain Resort on one side, and Deer Valley on the other, it is the heart and soul of our mountain town and the epicenter of all that is fun and wild. Historic Park City’s has a rich and storied past: it began as a raucous silver town, nearly faded into history as a ghost town, and then re-invented itself as a ski town that grew into a world-class destination and host to global events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Sundance Film Festival. At the center of Historic Park City is Main Street--home to over 200 unique businesses. Visitors can shop among at independent boutiques, dine at one-of-a-kind restaurants, relax at a restorative spa, ride the town lift to play in the mountains, stay in style within a short walk of everything, revel in our spirited nightlife, discover something to treasure from our lively art community, and connect with loved ones with memorable experiences.

    Walkable
City was clean safe and walkable. Many Art Work shops some Restaurants and Bars, acouple gift stores, and many clothing establishments. Was not an area for small children, they would get bored. Nothing for teens either. Adult area unless your going for food only with them. No free parking, everything was pay. And on a Tuesday night at 8pm they were issuing Tickets.

A cross between an Alaska port-of-call and Gatlinburg
Overpriced, crowded, full of silly and needless trinkets, but some gems buried here and there as well. Somewhere between the $12,000 fur coats and the overpriced polished rocks is a good experience if you roll with it and just enjoy it for what it is. We picked up a pair of jeans for $15, and enjoyed two hours of wondering how many people buy animal skins and furs these days. Park City seems to be the epicenter for the fur and animal skin trade in these parts. “Since 1872,” the sign proudly proclaims. Some good (and overpriced) food and drink along the way, but you probably expected as much, didn’t you? It’s easy to spend 2-4 hours on the Main Street, and a devoted shopper could spend a day or two in the art and jewelry stores. The Pando Store alone looked fascinating if that sort of art is your thing. Something for nearly everyone, but this is not a place to find many bargains.

    Nice downtown area
We walked around downtown on our day off of skiing. It's nice with lots of historic buildings. There are a lot of souvenir shops, clothing stores, restaurants, jewelry stores, and art galleries. We were looking around, not out to buy anything so we had a light lunch and window shopped.

Historic downtown Park City is a wonder of sights: the buildings, homes, shops, bars and restaurants. Unfortunately for us, there was road construction going on for a couple blocks on Main Street, which made for a bit of back-and-forth navigating across that noisy, irritating section of the street. Oh, well. Our timing for this visit was a bit off. And, as you well know … timing is everything. That aside:

You can easily spend 2-3 hours walking up and down Main and the other couple parallel streets. So much to take in. We returned here on a couple days.

Of course, your own experience will certainly be dependent upon what season it is. No doubt that a snowy evening walk down Main Street in peak snow season, with all the fun, lights and excitement of "just being there," will certainly be more than a bit magical. And chances are that road construction will be long-over when the Fall and Winter seasons come around again in just a few months. So, plan your trip now!

Worth the trip if staying in SLC to walk up and down the hill. Quality shops to browse from Patagonia to local mercantiles. Convenient parking garage and a downtown ski lift.

It really is a pretty little area. There are tons of shops, galleries and restaurants. I wanted to enjoy it more, but the snotty attitude of not only some of the shopkeepers, but also fellow visitors was off putting. I went with money to spend, but really had more than one "Pretty Woman" experience because I wasn't covered in fur and hauling an YSL purse (insert any expensive bag), I was ignored in more than one place. I was dressed in perfectly acceptable garb for the place and season.

I hope shop owners will learn to not judge by a patrons appearance. I would have spent money, but was so dismissed I went a couple shops down and spent money there, instead. Come on Park City, do better.

You can spend hours strolling through shops and galleries in restored historical buildings. The area is clean and colorful, with the mountains as a backdrop. Lots of restaurants with outdoor seating.

Beautiful destination. The entire street is loaded with shops, bars, restaurants. Silly Sundays the street is closed to traffic and filled with vendors of all types. Plenty of parking options if you go early in the day.
