Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main...

Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

Very professional local museum. Enjoyable. Took a good hour to go thru. After we left, you understood what some of the local 'names' were all about. My husband was a reluctant visitor (I dragged him in) but he enjoyed it too and was glad he didn't sit outside!

We were given a warm welcome by the staff (volunteers?) at the museum who gave us a quick outline of what was on offer. We spent two hours in the building and could have spent longer. The museum is not just the mining museum we had expected but also goes in depth into the history of skiing there and the... More

We have been in Park City many times, and walked past this hidden treasure many times. For a small museum, it has been newly remodeled and is very interactive with so many different facets of Park City History; Renowned ski area, silver mining, and interesting history. We took our grandchildren, and there was so much for them to see and... More

We stopped in here on a lazy day in Park City. It cost $10 to get in, and was a great little museum with lots of information about silver mining and the history of Park City. It is very interactive, and while we didn't have kids with us, I think kids would love it.

We went here on a rainy day. We have visited a number of museums this past year and found the Park City Museum to be one of the best local museums. We liked the movie on the Skier's Subway and how they once used a mining train to go to the ski lifts. We liked the special exhibit on circuses.... More

Lots of hands-on and interactive displays of this town's amazing history: its founding, silver mining, almost total destruction by fire and amazing rebirth as a ski resort. Kids will love the basement jail cells!

Cute museum. Mostly self guided. They did a good job of sharing the history. They have a the actually jail cell that was a little scary for the 5 year old in our group. It is $10 which was maybe a little pricey for the short time we spent there but overall was something nice we could all enjoy.
