The gift shop is really pretty nice - the service in the restaurant is good as is the selection of food. There are some interesting historical elements on site like John Wayne's cabin..

This is a small museum but if you visit Monument Valley it would be a shame to miss it, especially if you are a fan of the movies made in MV. The Trading Post there is also nice and IMO the goods there are less made in China Touristy vs real Native art. The prices are not too bad either,... More

Their location has a beautiful view of the valley below. The museum was interesting and well maintained. The gift shop was nice and the prices weren't bad. We also had lunch in the restaurant. I had the soup of the day, lasagne with turkey sausage. I also had the fry bread with honey. We got there between bus tours, so... More

We happened upon this and thought it was brilliant - loved the movie room in particular and if we had known they had a screening room with documentaries and western movies to watch we would have visited to coincide with a screening.

This small museum is packed with things from the Hollywood days of making movies in this area. John Wayne was in his prime and the museum reflects his glory. Very well done!

This is an easy stop outside of Monument Valley. If you love John Wayne movies and or history of western culture/trading posts and the Navajo culture and history this is a nice museum to visit. They take donations at the door. Lots of memorabilia from the trading post days, movies and Navajo culture. Beautiful long range views from outside the... More

This little museum is devoted to the relationship between the Gouldings, the Navajo, and the film industry which were instrumental in bring the story of the great Navajo Nation to the world. I would recommend touring the museum before you tour Monument Valley in order to get a sense of the history of this area.
