We started our day at Monument Valley with a short visit to the Visitor Center for souvenirs, and then headed to the Wildcat Trail. You have to register first, so that they know you are out there (not sure if this is a winter thing...More

It was an easy walk going but as others have stated, more difficult on the return. This is because of the sandy soil on the incline. Wearing high tops or a boot will keep the sand from getting into your shoes. Take a walking pole...More

Was looking for a trail I could hike in the morning before heading out of Monument Valley, and this was perfect. I only encountered one other person on this hike so it was really something special to be traipsing down around the Mittens, under the...More

Needs a couple of hours to walk it but well worth the effort. Easy walking until the last bit climbing up through the sand dunes. Much better way of seeing the area than the expensive jeep tours.

We arrived 4.30 pm at the entrance and the man said the trail was closed. And the visitor centre was almost closed, so we had to make a U turn. We went away and drove to Forrest Gump Point. Glad we didn't spend the $20.

This trail was pretty easy except on the way back you did have a rather steep climb but I had my hiking sticks and was fine. We had rainy chilly weather but we did see a full rainbow and some awesome photography opportunities because of...More

Having been on a drive-tour of Monument Valley with a Navajo guide, we then decided to hike the Wildcat Trail, which was a brilliant experience. Hiking down and, later, back up the sand dunes was interesting but not difficult, and it was wonderful to get...More
