I was excited to see the different rock formations within the park but the tour became so much more with our guide, Don. His stories of Navajo culture and traditions were wonderfully told and became the highlight of the entire tour. I booked the tour not knowing I would be in an enclosed and air conditioned van which is way... More

I've been a fan of John Ford's westerns pretty much all my life and Ford loved filming at Monument Valley, the ideal backdrop for his films. Finally, after all these years we made the journey and for the life of me I can't understand why we didn't do it decades ago. The Spirit Tours are the way to do it... More

We took the day tour from Spirit Tours. Inside the valley this is recommended that you have 4 WD. Also there is NO roads. The guide (Larry) took us remote places and explained all the navajo myths/stories. He also sang a song for travelers under the big dome (eagle's head). He showed us many movie shooting locations, navajo home etc.... More

My family of 3 took a full day tour with Navajo Spirit Tours. Luckily for us we were the only guests and had the tour for ourselves. In the first 3 hours we were taken to mystery valley. This is only a few miles outside monument valley, being accessible only by Navajo guides. Mystery Valley has a unique history and... More

Going to the Monument Valley is a long way. You drive for hours. Save driving into Native American Land and this part of the visit was not a DIY. This tour is expensive and book before time over the phone. The commentary and insights from the natives is the best, seen from their viewpoint and the scenery is spectacular. This... More

The sunset tour with Sean was fabulous. Sean explained the Navajo culture in relation to Apache and Mohawk cultures. He even taught us a few Navajo words. He has in-depth knowledge of the landscape and knows the names of each mountain. Sean plays the flute like a professional. The sound of the flute echoed in harmony as he played in... More

My mom and I are on a week long mother-daughter road trip through northern Arizona and Utah. The full day tour with Sean was definitely the highlight of our week. The viewpoints were stunning at every turn, but what drew me in was Sean's depth of knowledge about Navajo culture and history. I appreciated how he offered multiple versions of... More

We took a morning tour with Wilbert Cowboy and had a wonderful experience. There are areas in Monument Valley where you can drive yourself but it's worth the time and money to take a tour with a Navajo Guide. We got to visit some incredible sights that we would not have had access to without a guide. The vehicles are... More
