I didn't realize why all these people were in the middle of the road for this iconic shot....but now I see why. Middle of October was light in traffic...and cloudy, rainy day helped the visual. It's a once in a lifetime experience.

OK I know this was a scene in the Forrest Gump movie, however for me it is far more famous as the album cover of 'The Best of The Eagles' album. If you're unfamiliar with it, look it up. I was staying in Las Vegas...More

We travelled to monument valley and on to Mexican Hat, via Forest Gump point. Long straight road, beautiful sun shine, very little traffic... perfect

I stopped off at this site on my drive to Monument Valley. It is a beautiful site and pretty cool to be in a place of movie history. I parked my car and took a photo of the Forrest Gump sign, and then walked a...More

Made famous in the movie Forrest Gump, this is the spot where Forrest finally got tired of running. With the two-lane road leading straight towards the red sandstone rock outcroppings of Monument Valley, don't miss stopping by. Highway 163, about mile marker 13 ... between...More

We enjoyed stopping here and got some good photos, but there are lots of people who seem willing to risk their lived to get the shot in the middle of the road. We had to wait ages while some people took about 20 different pictures...More

We drove through here on the way to Valley of the Gods. There had to be at least a dozen cars on either side of the road. Quite a few of the people were in the middle of the highway trying to get “the shot”...More

An overwhelming spot for most of the visitors. From my point of view it’s more impressive to drive through the monument valley.

You’ll know it when you see it. The scene from Forrest Gump will immediately enter your mind. There are several pull offs to stop and get pictures. Many will dodge traffic to get the perfect picture. Fun stop, and won’t take much time.

Difficult to capture the view you wish to because many people are also stopped and the clear view you wish for is near on impossible or you are very lucky. A fantastic view though of a magical place.

While there, I can also support that locals do not wait for tourists. The best way to get aw some shots is to 1) get your camera set up and 2) get someone to spot for you. It’s worth having time and patience it’s beautiful

Hi. We arrived on Friday at around 11-12 midday. Traffic was very light and only had to wait a few minutes to get a clear shot of the road. Their was only one other couple there, enjoy.
