I found this fascinating. The small museum and ghost town and grounds are like something out of a movie set. The views and the mountainsides are beautiful. The cowboy tour guides provide brochures with maps of hikes & driving tours of the nearby mines. This...More

There's not really a lot of 'ghost town' left here, but I enjoyed my stop. It is close to the freeway, so it makes a nice place to get out and walk a bit. The ladies at the museum were very pleasant and answered my...More

Silver Reef Museum describes the community that formed near Leeds, UT in the late 1860s-early 1870s. Silver was found on a sandstone reef near the museum and this happened when silver was booming. This stop is affordable, informational, historical, and tells a fascinating story of...More

This is a small museum with some interesting artifacts. The town is not there, just a few wall remnants. They have built a replica mine they take you into, and tell you the history of the town. Really not much here. Not really worth much...More

We are very happy to have had the opportunity to share our story with you! The town of Silver Reef was absorbed into the rest of Washington County around 1900, because the building materials were so very valuable back then. Next time you come by,...More

LOVE this stop along I-15. The only place in the US where silver was discovered in sandstone. It's a cool ghost town with buildings being restored. The volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly and the buildings, diorama and walking paths are inviting and interesting. The museum...More
