This area has an extensive trail system. I recently hiked the Babylon area, that leads you down to the Virgin river winding through a beautiful canyon and natural arch. On the way down we bouldered through the canyon ravine with three five year olds, (the left fork of the trail) instead of the easier right fork that will lead you... More

If you love slot canyons, great photo ops, water, and fun you might like this place! Camping is available. Day use too! I live 10 miles from here and always bring out of town guests. They are always amazed.

After years of visiting St. George, I found this beautiful recreation area right off the freeway near Leeds. It's a recreation area with picnicking, short hikes, red rock climbing, and local history with easier access than most. This scenic playground could accommodate all levels of hiking expertise and abilities, including those who are disabled. Just to sit right in the... More

We took the short drive north to park and it was a delight. Most can be seen from car on drive up and best view on drive down. The side trails easy and marked. The canyon walk to a narrow passage nice and easy to do but you are walking in soft red sand like on beach, only red.

We arrived in the evening at this remote campground at the end of a dirt road surrounded by beautiful red desert cliffs. It was our first camping night on a 9 night trip (that included both camping and hotels/motels), and we were happy we found available sites at this self-serve, no reservations campground. We located a site with some shade... More

I took my two boys on a few close hikes which were easy to handle, but with out plenty of water could not have been done. Campsite was great and well maintained.

We wanted to explore and find a hike to get us started on our hiking adventure. We found Red Cliffs Recreation Area. It is also a camp ground with each specific area - camp grounds, general parking vs. camper parking, trails, etc. readily marked. Beautiful views and lots of things to climb on and explore. It is hot during June... More

This area was located right across from where we were staying so we decided to do a nice evening hike. No one was on the trail we took, Dino Cliffs, and it was very scenic, fairly flat and nice and hot. It was hard to find the trail head as we enter off the main entrance but once we found... More

It was a good hike, just a little dry and no shade so take plenty of water. It has some beautiful sites which make the heat worth it.

NOTE: The following review was mistakenly posted to Red Cliffs National Conservation Area which is really not accessible to the public. It is actually for Red Cliffs Recreation Area in Leeds which is an awesome place with many public hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Do not get the two areas confused! This is a nice alternative to doing the traditional... More
