We enjoyed this museum (don’t confuse it with the one in AZ). Our GPS took us to a spot 2 blocks too soon.

We found this to be a well done museum. We especially enjoyed the dinosaurs and boats in the basement. It gave a nice break from driving. There is also a nice gift shop with pretty Indian jewelry. We found the staff helpful for future stops on our trip, also.

Very well kept and informative Museum about the area. We enjoyed our visit and it was worth the $12 Senior admission for 2. Very friendly and helpfull staff. I would think children may be a bit bored, but there are cool things to see too.

This museum is the best one we have seen in a while. The information on John Wesley Powell and his expeditions down the Colorado River is incredible. It is well worth a couple of hours. There is a great movie (20 minutes) about the trip down the River.

I really enjoyed the initial video on JWP's first trip down the Green and Colorado Rivers. Downstairs dinosaur display small, but interesting.

The museum is located right on the river - so the experience starts before you even go inside. The bas relief on the outside of the building shows the explorer's boat going down the river and the mesas and cliff to the side. It will stop you in your tracks. Go just a bit farther and you will be in... More

It's got a lot of great information. If you're at all interested in south west history, or river running this is a great place to spend a few hours. It has a lot of fascinating info about the John Wesley Powell expeditions. It's also the river runners hall of fame. and has some great dinosaur specimens.

Lots of good information on a generally forgotten part of American History. A little confusing set up as it seems to not be too linear in progression. Hard to follow. But again, well worth a visit if in the area. Admission covers a whole week if you want! Very nice staff. We learned a lot about an important step in... More

This museum was recommended to us by a geologist who regularly visits the area. We did not expect to be impressed, but decided on a visit. We were blown away - for a small museum, it is EXCELLENT. This area of Utah has a unique history and the discovery of the area, the history of the people who settled and... More
