I planned for short trip to U Dig Fossils on March 19, 2016 with my parents (early 70s), my wife and I (mid-30s), my nephew (14), and my son (6). I thought it would be a nice relaxing afternoon with my family and we would be able to bring home some souvenirs when the day was done. We planned on... More

My husband and I were the first visitors for the year this last weekend, and are we ever glad we took the drive. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles and made to feel very welcomed by Bevan and Holly. We had planned to stay for a couple of hours but ended up closing the place down... More

We visited u-dig last weekend with our 3 boys (6, 10, 12) as well as their 14 year old cousin. Everyone had a ball! We found tons of trilobites in the rocks. The people running the place are SUPER nice as well, which made the whole experience that much better. This is a brilliant outing for a family!

U-Dig Fossils is worth the drive and more. My wife and I were greeted by Robin when we arrived and she acted like we had been friends for life. Robin went out of her way with hospitality for the solid three hours we were on site. She showed us how to split rock and find trilobites and other fossils. She... More

We've been to U-Dig twice. The first time it was just my son and I because my daughter didn't want to go to the desert to "dig up dead bugs". When we came back with trilobites she instantly changed her mind and wanted to go. The folks at U-dig are great. It does cost but I found it to be... More

My wife had seen the sign for U-Dig on a previous trip but did not stop. This time, we deliberately took The Loneliest Highway (US 50) just so we could stop. Because we like fossils. We did call ahead because we were driving a 2005 Mercedes and the road to the quarry is 20 miles long - and not paved.... More

We spent the the previous night in Delta and drove to the site on Wednesday morning. You drive approximately 32 miles on a paved road then turn onto a gravel road for another 20 miles. The road was well maintained and signs to the dig site are present, we had no problems. The lady was the site was extremely polite... More
