Devil's garden is one of those places you should inquire about the road before attempting the drive. When it's wet, this road may be impassable. I would just ask about the condition of the road at one of visitor centers (there's one at Escalante and Cannonville). THERE ARE TOILETS HERE (pit toilets) and a picnic table. My best advice about... Okay maybe you went to Bryce and are hoo doo'd out but this is a great little stop if you are exploring Hole in the Rock road out of Escalante. There are bathrooms and picnic tables.

The place itself is very interested. The hodoos here look very different from Bryce. However you have to go on an awful dirt for some 13 miles to get there. If you don't have an ATV or at least an SUV, be prepared for a tedious and difficult drive.

12 miles of gravel and poor road to see magnificent hoodoos.certainly worth the trip off rat. 12 .very odd shapes and sizes of rock formations, good for short hike.It is on the Hole in the Rock Rd.we did not drive beyond.

On the Hole in the Rock road you can wander round for ages and admire the various rock formations. So unusual to see. Was very hot when we went in August so take plenty of water.

Our campground was wonderful - views over the wide valley in the distance - lightning storms on the horizon and stunning sunrise and sunset. Trail heads walking distance from our RV site as well as toilets and fresh water. Dump/water refill station not onsite. Rabbits hopping around and a coyote a few feet from our door! Coming from England's cool... More

This is 12 miles down a dirt road (4 wheel drive not necessary) so is not real easy to get to. We stopprd here on our way back from peekaboo canyon hiking. Really a neat place and you can do it in 30 minutes or 3 hours, depending on how much time you have. There are picnic tables and toilets... More

About 14 miles down a well-maintained dirt road and then turning onto a spur road for a very short time brings you to the most beautiful rock formations and stunning scenery! Easy to get to, and accessible for the whole family. Go!!

Visited today and glad we did! Easy drive on Hold in Rock Road, off Hwy 12. Some big mud puddles our 4 wheel drive handled easily, some 2w may get stuck, there had been rain but 95% of road dry! Sign to turn off, parking area and picnic tables. The hoodoo formations stunning, different than Bryce NP as has more... More

This is a really beautiful place and a short easy walk. We did this after already hiking about 8 mile so I was happy it was short. Great place to walk around and enjoy the rock formations. If you are in the area this is a great stop.
