We spent a very rainy and blustery day exploring the Comb Ridge area by Jeep this last fall. While the experience itself was really cool and we saw some awesome ancient dwellings and pictographs/petroglyphs, our guide Kristy really made it special! She was so fun to chat with and really added to the whole experience in the way that only a great guide can. Thanks for a wonderful day!

I am not normally a person who takes guided trips, but decided to do a guided hike of the Citadel ruin, since I would not be able to get there in my rental car. It was an excellent decision which I would recommend to anyone visiting the area. First off, I travel solo, and the hotel had no issue with booking me as a solo visitor, which was a huge plus. Second, the hike itself is great. It is a nice jeep ride to the trail head, followed by a moderate hike to and from the very unique and peaceful ruin (only saw a few other people during the visit) and the guide carried some pretty good hiking snacks to enjoy. Last, my guide, Kevin, was excellent. He was a good driver, extremely personable and thoughtful, and knew a lot about the area's geology and history. He helped me over a couple obstacles, which I felt a bit guilty/embarrassed about, but he was totally chill about it. We were moving at a decent pace, so he also showed me an extra ruin on a side trail, and on the drive back to the hotel, stopped by Muley point so I could see the view. Great experience all around- highly recommended.

We did the tour of the River House Ruin and it was fabulous. Our Navajo guides Kristi and Dylan could not have been more accommodating. In my case, i am a little timid about anything steep or edgy or rocky (not that there was anything hard about any of the walking that we did), and the guides were encouraging and patient, and made everything easy. The guides are excellent drivers, and very well informed—they deliver information at a nice pace, allowing time to just take in the uniqueness of the culture and landscape, and answer any questions.I was traveling with my cousins and we would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a deeper dive into ancestral Puebloan culture in the Bears Ears region.
