This was a happened-upon opportunity to learn about some Utah history. We thoroughly enjoyed the time spent visiting the Fort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A lot of personal pioneer stories were told on plaques outside of the cabins used by the settlers. Great presentation of information, good for all ages. We spent just under an hour there,... More

While stopping for a night in Bluff, Utah we did a quick drive around town and came upon the historic Bluff Fort. Along with a mercantile offering various goodies the historic town is made up of various old time cabins with each having an audio description of the history of people and descriptions of pioneer times. You can even have... More

My 11 YO daughter really wanted to visit the fort. My parents and I were less than enthusiastic, having visited Cove Fort to the west and feeling like we were given a church history lesson. The people at this fort are all relatives of the Mormon pioneers that settled Bluff, but they don't proselytize. They really have put a lot... More

It was a completely impromptu decision to stop at Bluff Fort as we were driving through, and we are so glad we did. This place is free to visit and completely volunteer run. The men and women working there were so kind and clearly loved the history they were sharing. Start off in the visitor center and don't miss the... More

Stop by Bluff Fort on recommendation of a local. It was a a great history of the San Juan missionaries and the town of Bluff.

This is a well-preserved 19c fort with many replica buildings and artefacts, as well as some original features. We enjoyed walking around it, reading about all the settlers who had lived in the area. Entrance is free but donations are very welcome. Our only criticism is that the staff in the gift shop were too overpowering with their keenness to... More

We visited with a family group of eight (four kids), and we all had a great time. The volunteer staff was very friendly and helpful, including providing ideas for seeing additional local sights. They have a lot of nice exhibits, clean bathrooms, and replica buildings.

Amazing place, you will like it if you love history! It is kids friendly also. I could have spent hours there listening to the stories and looking on the old photos.

They have a small video presentation when you first arrive that tells you about the early settlers, once that's done you walk the fort and see all the tiny cabins. The store has trinkets and most of all soft serve ice cream from a 1.75$. Delicious. The fort tour is free and worth it if you have about an hour... More

We stopped briefly here to see some of the old historic house in the town of Bluff and also stopped by the fort. We didn't go into the visitors center, but did check out some of the historic relics outside. There was a small crew building a stone wall of a house using local materials and screening sand to make... More
