Definitely worth visiting o the last Saturday in September every year for the Chautauqua gathering. It's a shame the surrounding park is so run down. Get it together, Waxahachie. Why else would anyone want to visit you?

We are talking about the most beautiful park I've been too, Getzendaner Park, Waxahachie Tx. Large 200+ year old oaks shading the most of a few play grounds for the young in heart, large grassy areas for the energetic, and a large oval asphalt drive...More

I was involved in multiple shows for many years. The performances were always held here. It's a beautiful space. The only downside is the lack of heat/air. Come prepared!

If you are looking for a historic place in "Hachie", this is at the top of the must see places. Had the experience of watching my daughter in a play at this venue...made it all the more special.

The Chatauqua is held the last Saturday of September every year. This year the theme was Space and Fred Haise, from the ill-fated Apollo 13 was the main speaker. It was fascinating to hear first-hand from a living hero of that mission. It was followed...More

Beautiful historic theater. It has wooden benches and no air-conditioning, so dress for comfort. Many local groups hold meetings and performances, including Waxahachie Community Theater productions. Beautiful location for weddings.

Chautauqua Auditorium is a wonderful place full of history. Sort of an octagon shaped building with roll up sides to let a breeze in. I have been to many events here several of which I have been involved in. Old time singing, rock n roll...More
