We took a picnic and an afternoon hike at lost maples in the beginning of October. It was beautiful. The trails are well marked. We took a 5 year old, 13 year old, 9 year old and two dogs with us and everyone was able...More

The weather was misty but it did not take away any of the beauty this park has to offer. We hiked to the top and it was beautiful. The exercise and views led to a peaceful night sleep and raging morning appetite. Definitely worth the...More

We have visited almost every national park in the US and many state parks in Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington; Lost Maples is by far the worst run park we have ever attempted to visit. We were visiting our son in college in San Antonio...More

Fun and relatively challenging hike in a couple spots depending on your physical condition. We missed most of the changing foliage but still a fun a beautiful hike. Got there at opening to avoid the crowds and it worked. Have been there before on a...More

We spent Thanksgiving camping here, and, the only reason I am writing a review of the usually wonderful Texas State Park system is how exceptionally poorly maintained this park is. The worst? The bathrooms in the camping area were filthy. Nobody cleaned them with any...More

Although we were a little too early for the full fall foliage colors, we did enjoy the easy trail along the creek and saw some small bits of color. The trail itself was well maintained and tranquil

My husband and I first hiked here in February 2015. We loved the challenge of the East Trail and returned for the West Trail today. Both trails are beautiful and are a nice challenge. I recommend the East Trail for the outstanding views and peaceful...More

Beautiful park. We came on a busy day, but it was still pretty awesome. The park rangers seemed a little stressed out. In the gift shop they just kept complaining and bickering. Little weird.

Most people travel here for the Maple trees turning red in the fall. I was no exception but it was a little early. I hiked the East Trail and I hike a lot but this trail has a part that goes up and up and...More

Great park. Beware during the peak fall season the park fills up to capacity by 9:30 AM. So plan on being there early. Also when it is busy the peace and quiet is completely ruined.
