Looked like a nice little museum, but we didn't get to see it. After driving 700 miles to visit the museum and staying an extra day just to visit on aTuesday which they say is a day of operation, we find them closed and not open till Wednesday. It takes hardly no time to update hours of operation. Very frustrating and disappointing.

What a fantastic museum! Make sure you have a few hours to spend here (we spent 3 hours and could have spent more)! There is so much incredible history and authentic pieces of history. From uniforms, to weapons, to personal items, and of course the airplanes you get to see. Larry was our guide outside and he was awesome! We learned so much. Highly recommend this museum to any history enthusiast.

This museum is really a nice surprise to visit. My late husband liked to go there and just wander. And wander you can! No one hurries you along and you can stand an look as long as you want to. There is rooms and shelves galore and you can while a way an afternoon before you know it. There is someone there that will escort you outside when you are ready to view the planes. All the employees know more then they have the time to tell you so ask lots of questions! I recommend this museum to all ages. And they have a nice little gift shop with some unique military items.

This is the best aviation museum I have visited. The collection of memorabiliacovers flying from the very early days right up to the present. There is a great collection of uniforms and the staff, all ex forces, are very friendly and knowledgeable. The collection of aircraft is very good and everything about them is explained. Would definitely go back if we visit Tyler again.

I had thought this was free, but it is not. It is inexpensive though. You'll want to take note of when they are open since our first try they were closed (Monday I think it was). The outside you have to go with a guide. You can get up to and touch the aircraft which is nice. Inside, though, is the gem of the museum. So many fascinating items. We could have spent longer, but needed to go due to one of the kids. They also have volunteer guides inside to help answer questions which is also really nice.

This much be one of the best kept secrets in East Texas. I had never heard of it until I went to see the Wings of Freedom Tour. Was pleasantly surprised by the exhibits. They were very well presented and covered so many areas of military aviation history. There were number military aircraft on exhibit with informative information on each. Well worth the drive!

Looking for a location to hold a meeting for about 40 to 50 people. What a great find. When I stopped at the Tyler Chamber if Commerce they gave me a list of places and mentioned that this facility also has a cafe. The museum has aviation memoribilla from generations ago as well as old aircraft. I spoke to the President and ironically he an iPad both worked for Convair Division of General Dynamics in San Diego. He is extremely knowledgeable on the history of aviation If you have a interest in aviation or you have children or grandchildren who like to lookup a see the contrails or aircraft overhead. This is a plum of a plastic to make sure you visit. Tyler has a population of about 60,000 so you have no only this museum but a number of other great places to visit. About a 90 minute drive from Dallas. I'm very much a senior and it was an easy drive and a great visit.

Really worth a visit. I'm not even really interested in planes but this was a great visit. So much history and artifacts and memorabilia from wars and planes. I would go back tomorrow and spend more time there to actually really study every section. Carefully divided into historic sections, with detailed notes and pictures and explanations. We went outside to see the planes but it was midday and really warm - but will go back in cooler weather. Inside was SO interesting. Cute little gift shop.
Check hours and restaurant hours before you go. We had planned to eat at the restaurant and somehow missed the closing time by 10 minutes. Nice people around the place, some war veterans actually willing to give you a tour and first-hand info.
