With more than 50,000 visitors annually, Brookshire's World of Wildlife Museum provides an up-close look at more than 450 animals from various regions of the world depicted in their natural habitats. The adjoining Country Store takes guests back in time with products and fixtures commonly seen in a grocery store of the 1920s.

While visiting Brookshire's World of Wildlife Museum and Country Store, enjoy our playground, which features three covered, age-specific play areas with state-of-the-art equipment that meets or exceeds safety standards. Special attractions on the playground include a 1952 La France fire truck, a restored railroad caboose and a 1936 McCormick Deering farm tractor.

A gift shop is also available with a variety of merchandise including toys, novelty items, candy and snacks.

This museum had so many animals (purportedly 450) that it took us quite a while in each room to view them all. I loved the small ID signs underneath each animal giving basic details such as their habitat, diet, and an interesting fact about each animal. I couldn't help but think how much I wish our grandchildren were with us... More

I have never seen so many wild animals in such a small place....all stuffed of course. The exhibits are amazing. My grandchildren were awe struck! They also have a replica of the first Brookshire Grocery Store from the precious century. Its like a walk back in time! Then they coerce you into a gift shop area so everyone can buy... More

Took Grand Child here while on vacation. Lots of animal displays and very educational. This awesome place is free for everyone to enjoy. There is a gift shop that offers many unique gifts. Outside offers a wonderful playground for the kids. It has a padded rubber mat throughout the playground. There is also a train caboose and fire engine along... More

Only reason I'm giving them a 4 star is because there was a lady in the front that wasn't that polite towards my children but other than that it was awesome!! And there was an older gentleman that worked there that was super sweet!

Such a fun place to take the grands. It's kind of like an indoor zoo, perfect for rainy days. You get to see animals that we don't see here. The country store is great fun too!

If you want to have a fun time with NO stress entertaining your "little ones", this is the place to go! My GRANDgirls could spend hours here. We start with the museum which produces awe and amazement throughout our walk. I constantly hear, "Gigi, Look!" After, visiting the museum, we entered the park which is equipped with plenty of slides,... More

Good educational opportunity here. I especially was impressed with the recreated original Brookshire grocery/General store. Gift shop on grounds.

Many people like this place. The park is great, but the museum is just the animals people shot and stuffed. If you don't mind that sort of thing, then enjoy!

This place is fantastic. Lots of exotic wildlife on display, history of the Brookshire grocery business and a look back at an old time grocery store. Admission is Free! We visit at least once a year. Great place to take kids.

This museum is definitely interesting and it gives you the chance to see something that you don't see all the time. It's a little sad that so many animals were hunted for trophy. However, this is a free interaction which is good for families on a budget.
