We picked one of the hottest days of the year and drove over an hour each way but it was well worth it! A hidden treasure for sure with wonderful volunteer guides that really knew their stuff. The buildings themselves and stories of the people bring this local, but typical small town, history to life. We didn’t get to see everything in this first trip but we will be back. Lots of antique stores and plenty of local places to eat before or after your visit.

The Tomball Museum Center has become one of our families favorite traditions. We love going through the old buildings; homes, church, schoolhouse, gas station, community center and barn. The performances by local choirs, youth groups and small music groups is so entertaining. It is just so pleasant.

It's a collection of multiple types of buildings from earlier periods in Tomball, as well as antiques and photos. One of the best times to see it is during the Candlelight Tours, an event which happens near Christmas. During that time, the houses are lit by candles and oil lamps, guides are there to welcome the guests and answer questions, and refreshments are served. Anybody interested in Tomball's history should visit the Tomball Museum Center.

My husband and I stopped on Wednesday to see all the bldgs. but it is closed M-W, with hours posted for Thur-Sat 10-2 and Sun 2-4. We returned today about 11 a.m. and everything was shut up tight and no one was present, except other guests. We wandered around, peeking in windows and taking photos, but were very disappointed at not being able to see the exhibits. There was nothing posted about maybe closed because it's Columbus Day weekend, or any other reason. I didn't want to give it a terrible or poor rating because that wouldn't be fair, but it could have received an excellent rating. Having read the other positive reviews, we were really looking forward to this and I'm sorry we won't have another opportunity to see it as we are only here for a few days.

Great place to roam around and get into history. December is beautiful when they are decorated for Christmas.

The Tomball Museum Center is a wonderful place to explore the history of Tomball, Texas. Early in December each year there is a Candlelight Tour that is a must-go-to for anyone!

Went with my husband on Saturday and we both enjoyed the tour. It feels like going back in time! Highly recommended! After your visit, you cam walk around and find antiques, restaurants, boutiques and shops. Nice visit.

I went a Saturday within the hours the museum worked and it was closed !!! Nevertheless, you can go through the park between the houses/buildings and find a few interesting objects altogether.

Loved my tour with Becky!! She conducts a very interesting & detailed tour of historic Tomball!!
There’s so much more to this museum than one would expect! It’s a true restoration with a wide array of antiquities.

I absolutely loved walking the outside grounds of the museum and seeing the structures. They are marvelous I just loved taking in the charm and capturing it on my camera. They are saving history of the town in such a great way.

Is there a single building Museum, or just the collection of buildings?
