We've been going to Surfside regularly for many years. Of course there are prettier beaches in the world (and in Texas) but Surfside is convenient, safe, and relatively clean. Being able to drive on the beach is a lot of fun.

Was very nice to go here. They have a few restaurants. I didn't stay but for a few hours. Beaches were clean. There is driving on the beach if you buy a permit for 12 bucks that's good for a year. Would definitely return.

Gee..Moved to area in 1963...Ma, Pa, and little Brian. Have done about everything you can do, at a beach, work, lived, camped, visits, resident...I am a fan of both the town, and the beach. Folks there are great, cops are cool, if Bingo is still in-house, dude's got a surf shop...boards or whatever for day, clothes, gifts, and if you're... More

I used to live very close to this beach and still go every chance I get. They always keep it clean and it's a really nice weekend get away. Some times the seaweed is bad but they don't plow it for a very good reason.

Surfside is a wonderful beach with a quiet community. Perfect for a relaxing day on the beach with family or a special someone. There are a number of small restaurants right on the beach where you can grab a bite to eat while looking out at the ocean.

Surf side beach is very nice! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I loved that the beach was not crowded at all and perfect weather. What I didn't like was it was an overflow of crabs, I got bit several times not fun. The water was a little on the dirty side and several random trash coming up from... More

Very quiet, clean beach. Enjoyed swimming and playing in the surf and seeing an occasional dolphin close to shore. Not much else to do nearby, but if you're looking for a quiet and restful get away, Surfside is a good option on the gulf.

Love this beach, quick getaway from the city and close enough for a day trip. Pay $12 for the year and you can drive your vehicle right up to beach. Water is clear, light brown sand. Restaurants nearby for lunch or dinner.

Had a really nice beach day at Surfside- it's not too crowded, there is free parking, the water is warm but not too warm and seemed clean, and the beach did have some litter but we were able to find a clean spot. And all less than an hour away from Houston!

The beach was a little dirty and lots of mosquitoes. The water was a little stinky but the waves were great.
