Ila Loetscher, the "Turtle Lady of South Padre Island", originally formed our organization to save the Kemp's ridley sea turtle in 1977. Now we are a sea turtle hospital with a mission to rehabilitate and release any injured sea turtles, increase awareness concerning their safety and habitat, and assist with conservation efforts for all sea turtle species. We are funded by donations, grants and gift shop proceeds-- For rehabilitated sea turtle and hatchling release text message notifications, please see our website membership page. See you at Sea Turtle, Inc.!

We didn’t go until late in the afternoon and we had only an hour to visit. However, it was wonderful and we will return next time earlier in the day!

The turtles were probably our favorite part of the whole trip! Loved that there were bio's associated with each turtle. So neat to see up close, would highly recommend a stop there!

We have been here before and love the concept. They are there to save the turtles and help them survive. They are very informative. They were answering questions for the kids with patience and even more patience with us adults
