About
The Central Texas Wing hangar houses seven CAF aircraft for which our Wing has maintenance and restoration responsibility: the C-47 That’s All, Brother, a very-rare flying P-39Q Bell Airacobra, the B-25J Yellow Rose, a Beech C-45 Expeditor, a North American T-6, a BT-13 Valiant undergoing a frame up restoration, and a Cessna U-3A Administrator. Other aircraft in the hangar are privately owned by CAF members or CAF sponsor groups, and used to support the missions of the CAF. Among these are a T-6, a Japanese Kate replica, built for the movie Tora, Tora, Tora, and a Bell 47 Helicopter.

I have visited other CAF hangars, this was the best I have seen yet. They ask for a $20 donation for groups, which is well worth it! They have several planes including bombers. Gabriel gave us a wonderful tour, and was very knowledgeable about each of the planes. He also allowed us to climb inside one f the bombers and take as many pictures as we wanted. It is amazing to see these WW2 planes up close. Don't be surprised to see mechanics working on these birds. I takes a lot to keep them flying. They really need donations. Gabriel also gave us a tour inside the museum. He can tell you all about the planes used in different wars, and he really knows his stuff. My parents really enjoyed it as well as my wife and son. Its the hangar way at the end of the road. I highly recommend it if you are in San Marcos

This is a special place. It has a nice collection of WW2 planes including a Liberator and a P-57. The museum is well laid out and has some really unique displays including a unique array of Doolittle Bombers memorabilia and artifacts.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed the visit. We are striving to improve the museum between working on aircraft and some much needed building maintenance. Thanks again hope to see you again soon.

Great display of some very old warplanes. The people working here are all volunteers and receive no pay. Very friendly and informative. Great museum to walk in and even go in some of the aircraft.

The CAF hanger was such an amazing surprise for family of military/plane enthusiast. We had such an amazing time touring the facility. Our favorite part was the museum, and the men who work there. This a a wonderful small museum, and the best part is that you get to get up close to the planes.

It was a worthwhile stop. It was part of a birthday weekend of man things for my husband to enjoy doing. Several vintage aircraft and a museum type display area. The volunteers working on the planes and other machinery took time out to spend time visiting and sharing. We both enjoyed it very much.

This museum has an impressive collection of historic airplanes and memorabilia. Our tour guide was Clint, who is exceptionally well informed about each of the aircraft and items in the museum. This was a most interesting stop.

My husband and great grandson spent their time looking at planes while the ladies of the family checked out the outlet stores. This exhibit had free entry while the ladies spent the money.

I was extremely surprised to find and see what inside this place. an amazing collection of airplanes from WW1 WWII and the Vietnam war....etc. Clint was an amazing guide and a super knowledgeable about the history of this country. we had few questions about some airplanes as well as some of their amazing museum collection, clint had accurate answers with a complete genuine spirit. to visit this place is free, but please keep in mind that these people are doing great job keeping this place open. so when you walk in there is a donation box there. please be generous. after the visit, we were 100% that those donations are well spent. do not miss the museum, collection of guns from all different wars was nice. the airplane cameras and the pictures taken during the 60' and 70' was spectacular.
