We toured Fort Concho while on business in San Angelo. They have some nice displays of historical pieces. It is rather spread out, but it is the original buildings. We enjoyed the tour.

Sometimes a fort can just be more of the same. But the photos, the variety of buildings, the docents, make a trip to this place worthwhile.

There are several parking areas around the fort, including across Oakes Street, as mentioned above. The farmer's market is not open yet for the season, so the only people parking there should be people who work in the area... More
