We went with a Groupon deal. It was a very wonderful experience. Super polite employees. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. I just wish that there was a train experience that young children would enjoy. The train garden wasn't functioning. I hope this museum continues to...More

We went to Rosenberg for the 2017 RailFest, which is really a fundraiser for the Railroad museum. Located in an old train station, the museum is a quite manageable little museum that hs a good collection of railroad related objects, photographs and documents. For those...More

They have a few very nice exhibits--a beautifully restored First Class rail-car and an old caboose, as well as several artifacts in their small display room and a nice model train set-up. What really makes it special, however, is the staff. They were extraordinarily kind...More

Just attended my grandson's two year old birthday party here. Great fun! There is a nice toy filled space in back with an adjacent party room. We gathered there for Happy Birthday. Then we all gathered for a tour of the museum grounds. Walked thru...More

The museum has a variety of historical items that would be interesting to railroad fans; check the web site for days and times open; if you have the time to spare, this is a good train watching location.

Great community museum! We visited during their Fall Fun Fest and the kids had a blast. The volunteers are so friendly and informative and the exhibits are very interesting. Make sure to take the train car tour and check out the amazing miniature city.

We took a 13-year-old who had just taken Amtrak from D. C. to New Orleans. He found it fairly boring until we got to the actual old train car. I think it would be much better for younger children - under 7. It had some...More

We had a discounted admission voucher, so we decided to visit. There were small displays throughout, but my daughter was drawn toward the engineer controls. A mock-up of the engine room to go along with it would have been a nice addition. I personally liked...More

We decided to go as a family for our son's 3rd birthday. We were surprised to find that it is just one very small building with a few things on the wall, and some non-spectacular historic items in cases. Nothing really stood out to me....More

On a day there is nothing special on the calendar, can you ride on a train or miniature train? What is on exhibit all year long? I'm trying to find an educational but fun activity that will be fun for an almost 2 year old (very bright and active, very curious).

Patricia in Houston is spot on in her response. I would guess that this very bright and active almost 2 year old is a card carrying member and true representative of the gwynhafer family tree. I'd let him get a few more... More
