This state park is excellent for birding during spring migration. Park and walk the trailer loop and trails. This park is one of the easiest to see a Painted Bunting. Please do not plays bird calls. The drip in the center near the restrooms is a good place to spend some time.

Mostly for fishing RV types.Cost $5.00 per person to enter. There are a lot of roads with sites outside of the actual park for camping. There is a 1000 year old tree, which is supposed to be the largest of it's kind.

Great bayside sites with ocean breeze that keeps mosquitos away. Nice area to stay. Good for bike rides. Great fishing from right outside your rv spot or from pier.

We only had a partial day to visit this park, and we are so glad we did. The birding was great! We did a drive through of the campgrounds and wished that we had stayed there. Beautiful shady spots or right on the beach.

We wanted a quiet place to spend the afternoon and fish. This is just the spot for us. It was not crowded and clean.

We come to Goose Island on birding expeditions every year, sometimes twice! The variety of birds is exceptional because of the mix of bay, marsh and oak environments. This is one of the first landing spots for birds crossing the gulf, so they are more easily seen and photographed. We even saw a Yellow-faced Grassquit here, several years ago, which... More
