I brought my 1 yr old daughter here and it was perfect because the water was shallow and the tides weren't too overwhelming for her. Highly recommended for younger kids.

Rockport beach was great!! $5 well spent for a clean, relaxing spot on shore. The guests were friendly, water was a bit murky but no jellyfish or any signs of sea critters. I loved the fact that you could walk out half a mile and...More

Great beach in the heart of Rockport. The shallow water is a great place to get the little ones acclimated to the ocean without the fear of deep water. Family picnic tables under shade offer a great family outing barbeque area but get there early...More

Lots to see along the beach road. We just drove around back and forth took lots of pictures of the trees mostly.

It doesn't get much better than this. Very clean and well Maintained. No pets or glass bottles. Long Beach, new boat launches, and salt water pool as well. Great!!!!

It's so nice, a band of beach with tiki hutches and beautifully maintained beach, amenities, but I never really get to enjoy it because of my dog. The reason I go is for him to frolick in the water. They are gracious enough to have...More

Cost to much and bad for jelly fish. Stickers all in the grass area where the tables and grills are. Not a place I go to!

Water was beautiful! Such a great beach - especially for families! The bathrooms could use some work/updating....but overall ok.

Entire section for families with dogs next to pier and aquarium side. Nice bathrooms in middle of beach area. Great for small children as not deep for long way out. Bring picnic and chairs. Enjoy.

We were met at the gate and asked if we could just drive through and look but were told no since we had a dog in the car. Rude woman, for no reason. Whatever.

We will be coming to Rockport in late June and I was wondering if this a good beach for collecting a variety of different seashells? If not, where is the best place within an hour of Rockport?

Since we are on a Bay we don't get many seashells. Your best bet would be 20 minutes south of us at Port Aransas, TX

Is rockport beach pet friendly? I see comments both pro and con.

The Rockport Beach does not allow pet due to it's Bird Sanctuary Status. There is a small beach area before entering the Rockport Beach that allows pets. There is even a large grassy play area and potty stations.

There are several nice chain hotels. Even some privately owened hotels that have a private pier. Depending on what you are there for ie fishing, unwinding, or just a quick get away. A house provides more comfort with... More
