Liked the waves better here than the Port A beach but have to go out in the water quite a ways to get into deep water. My wife didn't like the sand, said it hurt to walk on but it didn't bother me. I liked...More

We were recommended by co workers to come here and we loved it. Great family atmosphere. Not much loud music or drunk people which is why we come back. Also not many jellyfish so far that we been there!

Rockport Beach on Aransas Bay is much cleaner and not near as salty as the beaches on the Gulf Of Mexico. No Sea Weed or Tar on the beach. It's also close to other attractions like the Fulton Mansion & the Big Tree (2000 year...More

The sand was really clean, water very clear and you could go out quite a long ways before reaching deep water. Just sitting in the water, little fish would come up and swim around us. $5 for a day pass, places to grill; very nice,...More

This was a great beach to relax with your family. It is clean, $5 to get in for the entire day (annual pass is $20) and shallow for a long ways out which is great for smaller children. The sand was very good both on...More

Beach was a little rocky for my liking, but the nice thing was the sandbar extending out about 200 feet for the little ones to play. Several activities offered in the area, but did find quite a bit of bottle caps/cigarette butts in the sand...More

Beach time often comes with its share of idiocy. Free beaches are often littered with trash, both human and commercial. Having toured the world's beaches, I have a deep understanding of what defines mainstream in terms of beach behavior. Rockport Beach seems to be different!...More

Rockport beach is easy to access, there is a free parking area or you can pay to drive down the beach a ways (on a paved road). It was kinda small and close to the highway which takes away from the ambience, but it was...More

We didn't fish, but the owner of the house where we stayed lived right on the canal and owned a fishing boat. He also had kayaks and my husband and son had great fun kayaking in the canal.

Since we are on a Bay we don't get many seashells. Your best bet would be 20 minutes south of us at Port Aransas, TX

The Rockport Beach does not allow pet due to it's Bird Sanctuary Status. There is a small beach area before entering the Rockport Beach that allows pets. There is even a large grassy play area and potty stations.
