Part of the trail was closed while we were there so we could walk only a portion of it. Did not see many birds in February but there was an eagle scouting the area.

Hurricane Harvey forced closure to access most of the preserve, but it is in process of restoration. Seawall (damaged, so be careful!) is still a great place to watch dolphins in the evening. Sunsets from here are always amazing!

Hurricane Harvey took its wrath out on the nature preserve but they will be rebuilding it. Restoration is a slow process for the entire area but it will happen!

You can not access this area now. I was told that many volunteers have been working to carry away the broken walkways, etc. for clean up efforts. They will continue to rebuild!!!

There were dolphins frolicking nearby. A large hare-no a rabbit-hopped by right in front of us, & we could see other in nearby. Beautiful place @ sunset, nice gazebo. Would go back again.

What a great place to go catch a sunset, or take a walk. Most of the we go at sunset. Watch the dolphins too. Picnic tables are available too. Fishing watching sea turtles as well. Have fun!!
