The early history of New Braunfels is on display here. Lots of artifacts gives a real sense of what early life for the German settlers was like.

A very well done museum. It takes at least an hour to go thru it all. A nice collection of items from German immigrants that settled the area.

The Sophienburg Museum is kind of a hidden treasure within New Braunfels. While the museum is not large, it contains very interesting information on how the area was developed. The artifacts and information was very informative.

Friendly people, excellent exhibits although limited in number. Very clean, very well set up, very nicely maintained. The exhibits are interesting and informative, worth a stop if you are a history buff.

The Sophienburg Museum will provide you with an overview of the areas history in a compact space. We especially enjoyed their storefront displays which helped us understand what life was like for those early German immigrants.
