Old time general store in Gruene

Best ice cream in Texas. Many locally made specialty treats to taste before buying. Wonderful selection of Texas souvenirs.

I live 25 minutes from this area, but I go there every chance I get..Always something new to see. This was a chance to show our new daughter-in-law some old German heritage

We were told about this place. My wife and I were like kids in a candy store. It has an old world charm about it. Everything in the store is interesting. The staff are friendly and helpfull without being a pain.

while visiting with friends, we took a Sunday afternoon drive through an area called Hill Country, Texas. It is a beautiful drive and the blue bell flowers were still in bloom. We stopped in a little gem of a town called Gruene, which is close to New Braunfele. There are many historical buildings to see including the Gruene General Store.... More

Great souvenir store, but so much more. Be sure to taste-test the Gruene General Store banana peanut butter...good chance you'll buy some, or maybe some salsa. If you've never visited the town of Gruene...be sure to make footprints to this little gem.

Make this your first stop! This is the store to find all your Gruene knickknacks with the best prices also! We went to just about every store & this is the one that had the most and different selection. We're sure to remember our trip with all the great things we brought home; shirts, candy, decor, everything!

A must see... Super crowded and not very accessible but we found so many fun souvenirs here we would have to recommend to Texans and non-technical alike!

This small country store had tons of really neat things for sale. There were funny items, frilly items, clothes, wall hangings, unique decor, candies, candles, etc. Make sure you do not miss this shopping experience.

This store truly does have something for everyone! There is fudge, ice cream (Blue Bell is Back!), fountain drinks and tons of texas made foods! I hadn't seen mexican jumping beans since I was a kid. There is a lot of nostalgic as well as new, cool and hip merchandise! Don't miss this one!!
