There is nothing more Texas than a good dance hall, and this is the gold standard of dance halls. If you are anyone in country music you play this place.

Visiting my son in Austin and wanted some authentic Texas music and dancing. This is a great little town with a fun general store. We heard Sad Girls and James McMurtry. No one under 21 allowed in. Plenty of security. And lots of beer. Wine...More

The music was great, the beer is cold, and the staff offers Texas hospitality! A must on your list when visiting Gruene, New Braunfels area!

So much fun and Gruene Hall is family friendly! Indoor and outdoor seating. My teen daughter liked it because we went out for ice cream cones from next door and were able to reenter and enjoy ice cream and the concert!

If you cant stand the heat stay out of Gruene Hall. There isn't any air conditioning. It didn't bother us,but there were some people who made mention of it. Hey it's summertime in Texas. A cold fermented adult beverage will do the trick. If possible...More

We had so much fun. The food was great and the bands were awesome. I highly recommend to anyone in the San Antonio area to make the drive.

Gruene Hall plays live country and blues music and is visited by the locals for an evening of dance. The dance hall was built over 100 years ago and retains the old world charm. It’s bare bones in nature with wooden benches and antiquated feeling....More

Great to visit and enjoy the music. We have seen so really good musicians here. The wood floors add a lot to the feel of the place. 2 Tons Tuesday is great for the family.

Austin is quite far away for what you are thinking. We stayed at the Best Western in New Branfuls, a 10 minute drive, after the show. Good travel's to you!!

Weather should be ok. It can get cold here in January, but usually it’s rather pleasant, Gruene Hall is heated just no a/c. So just check the weather a day or so ahead of time, weather shouldn’t be a reason not to go.
