We visited Monahans Sandhill State Park today and found that it was simply beautiful. There has been a lot of rain this year and many of the dunes were covered with wild sunflowers. The staff at the entrance/museum/gift shop were extremely nice. Not only did...More

Neat place, but too HOT in July. Do NOT wear flip flops or open sandals! Clean and tidy facility. Nice, informative staff. Running out door water offers a little relief from the heat and a much needed rinse off from the sand!

Not sure. Depends on what you plan to do. I would think Fall & Spring would be less HOT. And a half-day may be more than enough to do it all unless camping out.
