This park is most popular for it's rock climbing and bike trail. The bike trail goes all the way to Weatherford, TX or the opposite direction to Mineral Wells, TX. But does not go around back to the state park. Mostly flat not hard trail. The Mineral Wells way is shorter and more scenic. There is an incline to a... More

great place to camp or just spend the day. lake is great for swimming, fishing or boating. There are lots of walking trails and even cliffs to climb. they have a section for people to bring their horse's and camp. close to town but far enough in the country to enjoy the outdoors.

Just a short 45 minute drive from Fort Worth you'll find the adventure and tranquility of Lake Mineral Wells State Park. Entry fee for a day trip is $7.00 per person but money well spent as there are a lot of hike, bike and equestrian trails, seasonal canoe/kayak rentals and rock climbing with multiple anchor points available for use. For... More

I will say that recently it seems the swimming beach has gotten trashier but that may depend on what day you're there. Also, we camped here recently and our... More

We enjoyed the parks day site and hiked down to the bottom of the canyon where they held the WW2 pows where the rock climbers were rapelling down and climbing up then walked along the edge of the bank of the lake and caught several fish! Great fun!

The kids enjoy the trails. Lots of picnic areas with grills and many scenic spots. There's water sports available but we didn't do any. Not a lot of people there

We went to the store to get minnows and the lady was very helpful with were people were catching fish. Price was fair on minnows. The store had plenty of stock of stuff you might need for camping. The boat ramp was a nice ramp with docks on both sides. We caught a lot of fish. The areas we we... More

One can fish, climb, run, take leisurely walks, camp out, cook out, have group gatherings. search for cool stones. It's an all around awesome place. I have seen it grow and mature over the years. This is a great place to run, ride mountain bikes, kayak or stand up paddle. A picnic is very nice too. Beautiful place and friendly people.
