The Wildlife Preserve is a worthwhile local initiative to bring wildlife and local fauna closer to the residents of the often windy and hence dusty town of Midland. The presence of water and trees and other green vegetation has attracted many birds. Safe walkways have...More

The good: Lots of birds can be heard singing, fish can be seen in the lake, lots of nice smells from the plants, easy to walk on trail, the occasional sign to label the kind of tree you are looking at. Someone who I passed...More

What an oasis to find water and trees and great walking paths. We were walking around the pond full of ducks and fish as well as birds when a Bobcat crossed our path!!! One of the workers stated that that Bobcat lives around the pond...More

Close place to get some nature walking in that isn't desert. Easy walkways. Noise from I-20 is somewhat distracting in certain areas. Just enough if your seeking to be outdoors and do some bird watching too!

The trails are clean, safe and secluded. This place is a little bit surreal. It is like going into another world. We enjoy getting away on every Saturday morning that we get a chance. They also have clean restrooms.

After living in Midland for 3 years a customer of mine told me about this place. I decided to take a look on a Friday afternoon and was quite impressed. I can't wait to visit in the Spring when everything is green again.

Unexpected pleasure, a waterhole in West Texas. This is in an urban wildlife preserve around a Playa type water hole. Best for watching and learning about nature and its adaptability. A slow walk around the all-weather paths and decks will bring a lot of unexpected...More

It's hard to find water and greenery in this desert climate. I love to come out here every chance I get. I also love how it's always changing. Everytime I have been out there i discover something else. My only complaint would be that there...More

You will think you are in a national park somewhere. You need to visit and see for yourself. Saw eagles, ducks, many fish varieties and a good paved pathway.
