    Fun place
Great bars for all ages. Few drug dealers hang around the main strip. Few street sellers hang around day and night selling bags and sun glasses. Great atmosphere in most pubs. Elvis nights etc. Cocktails on the beach front.

    Lively place
If you are into clubs, pubs, night life this is the place. Playa de las Americas is just buzzing there is a lot happening here. Going here with a 2,5 yo was OK, we even found a playing ground near the beach but I think next time we will try Costa Adeje. I think this would be more family friendly.

A bit of a mixed bag
Has its good bits and bad bits. Range of places to go including bars and restaurants to suit most peoples taste. Avoid Veronica's if you don't want to be pick pocketed or surrounded by drunken 18-30 year olds. Watch out for the Looky Looky Men as well. Some of them may offer you more than the usual knock off tat - think along the harder lines. Golden Mile, Parque De La Paz and The Patch worth a visit.

    Uncomfortably Manic
A manic resort which is busy beyond belief, and this is February ? can't get a beach sun bed after 11am,and seems to be full of Brits seemingly wearing kiss me quick hats. Play da los Americas is without doubt Blackpool with sun, lots of tourist shops,Ice cream booths, and cheap eateries. You can purchase some decent trips ,especially out to see,the roads at certain times can be manic. What you obviously get is the sun, sunbed if your early enough, and a tan....otherwise think Blackpool.

    Relaxed holiday
Very relaxed holiday destination, weather was fantastic, loads of places to eat and enjoy at reasonable prices. The resorts of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje were our favourites. Less lads out in the evenings for the booze!

    Didn’t disappoint!!
Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe can go 2 ways: very bad or awesome. Our was the later! Greeting was fantastic, ambience was espectacular as expected, service was great and the food amazing. Our waitress, Lynette, was a huge professional and very friendly. The food came out quick and the portions were gigantic! It was an awesome evening and the relation quality/price was extremely good. 👍

    Good
I went here with friends back in 2010 , it was a great holiday to beach in the day and go out drinking at night,. There was plenty of different bars and restaurants and beaches to choose from so you will not get bored. I wasn't keen on the hotel I stayed at as it was very outdated but that did not spoil my holiday as the area was great,. I remember there was a McDonald's every quarter of a mile as you walk down the beach front so it was convenient for those who like fast food. I did witness the odd local rif raf and to many selling sunglasses on the beach etc but you just ignore it and carry on your way and enjoy your time there , don't let that put you off as playa is still a great place to take a holiday, it's also next to los christianos

    Restaurants Promenade
One of the most famous, if not THE most famous Beach and Promenade in Tenerife. The Beach itself is not, as in Tenerife, of Sands but stones. It has very few capacity to stay there and enjoy a nice afternoon but you can find some places at the end of the Promenade. The Promenade itself is lovely but you will find only restaurants which is not ideal on a walk by night. This is also the place, of course, where you will find the Clubs for the younger generations.

We visited Tenerife, Playa de las americas last week(Sol tenerife Hotel) . The beach was beautiful black sandy and the ocean was crystal clear, the sunset view is beautiful BUT our hotel fooled us with their picrures, the wall was dirty and the key card died and we couldn't enter our room. Too many Africans following you and offering weed and drogs what scared me. Too many times we had to cross the street because at every stairs at least 5 African people staying and waiting for tourists. We got fortune bracelet for fee but after 2 minutes the African lady asekd for money and wanted to know where we stay. Avoid playa de las americas if you alone or with your girlfriend.

I'll try and keep this short or it'll turn into a rant
Okay let's go
Hotel sol tenerife 12 nights half board
Get your food early or else it WILL be cold.
Big Hotel 2 lifts per block
Not enough,it's a long walk up to the 9th floor when dong heads are playing in the lifts
Very very narrow beds if your a little larger kinda person don't come here
Infact don't come here at all if you like a lie in
The doors cannot be shut unless you slam them so hard the earth moves a little on its axis
So you get the idea
Beds made every day but not brushed or mopped
Really small pool
How this place is 4 stars? ffs
Now the area in general
Ok
If you like good friendly service you've got no fkn chance
You'll sit there like a lemon for 20 mins to get served if your lucky
Then wait 20 mins to get the bill
And that needs checking as they like to add things
To then get served by a sulky waiter annoyed by the audacity of you to disturb them
And I found this attitude the same in everywhere we went
The food is spotty at best, and not worth the money
And don't get me started on the flies
If you want to eat in peace eat inside because the place was crawling in flies
So the TLDR is.
Bad service
Dirty toilets
Crap food
Flies everywhere
Go to turkey this place is 3rd world

First trip to the island and really enjoyed. Bars charge between 1 euro and 1.50 euro a pint up to about 7pm. Foodie places charge around 2.50 euro all day. Branded ciders in bottles are about 4 to 6 euro. Use the 123 Tenerife app to locate bars and/or acts that you would like to see. Found this more accurate than the posters outside the venues in some cases. Lovely Spanish food available along the waterfront which is of a pretty similar quality in each one. Usual mix of buffets available in the area if you want cheap and easy. Travelled in January so not crazy hot but a nice 21deg. If self catering then probably best to use Google Maps to locate the local Hiperdino which is cheaper than Lidl back home. Great deals on beers too. Good surf off the beach with plenty of hire shops available.

Our hotel does a free bus ride to playa de Las America's. The beach is a mix of sand and ground lava rock it looks grey . There seems like looks of water sports going on and boat rides and lots of ticket sellers. Lots of bars restaurants and shops. Too many people and to built up for us. If you like it busy you will enjoy. Not many public toilets the ones near the mercadona are ok 20 cents to use. Lots of people with mobility scooters even double ones. Lots of street sellers selling fake goods. The views are lovely out to sea. Glad we went but won't be going again.

Paid for a Samsung tablet at M.R. Store on Av. Las Americas. During the visit the guy applied a glass to my husband's phone without telling us the cost first and then charged over £40 for it. He showed us a 'Curry's' brochure from last year giving the price as £90. Although the glass us good I cannot find it for sale anywhere and so can't check the price. When we returned to collect the tablet they gave us our money back in cash (it had been a card payment) saying they could connect the tablet to the internet. All very suspicious. STEER CLEAR

This area has something for everybody and changes drastically from day to night, when it can get a little wild. Plenty of shops and restaurants and of course the beach. We enjoy the walks and daytime activities. We have stayed here on holiday and it gets noisy at night, right through to morning!.

We luckily had some good wether, otherwise the trip would’ve been BOORING. There’s not much to do, so make sure to stay at a nice hotel with a good pool and stuff to do. There’s some food restaurants, but most places are continental steak and fries kind of places. There’s a couple of good beaches to swim at, but I would recommend to stay on los Cristianos or near by. Playa de las Americas is a spot made for elderly tourists and drunk Englishmen. Make sure to rent a car for a couple of days and explore the whole island!

We will definitely not be going back to Las Americas!! Drugs everywhere, dirty and smelly, and very pushy looky looky men! Definitely not a place for family to visit. My poor children witnessed numerous drug deals as we were walking down the street or sat at a restaurant table. My father in law was even offered some Charlie as we walked down the street. Sat having food and the looky looky men were constantly coming back and forth our table. The streets were dirty and there is graffiti everywhere!! Las Americas was a complete let down and an embarrassment to Tenerife!

Very disappointed. I was in Playa de las americas in 2015 ,was very nice and we thought to go again this year june 2024. But is not the same. Dirty place, they are allowed to smoke almost everywhere, rubbish everywhere 😑, party people until 5 o'clock in the morning, and very strong smell a wee , people trying to sell you almost everything every 5 min all day. You can't rest. On the beach is the same, people trying to sell things all day. You feel harassed, special in the evening when you want to ho for a walk. They trying to convince you to go to there restaurant 😕. Not good. My holiday was not a holiday. Unfortunately l will never go back in Tenerife. But is very nice the food ,and very nice excursion specially Siam park. Quite expensive the shops . Overall this place is not good for tourists than want to relax. IS FOR PARTY 🥳 PEOPLE

Beautiful beaches with nice hot weather and a lot of excursions to keep you active. Loro Parque was outstanding and highly recommend. We will definitely return but for a shorter period.

The only reason it’s loosing marks is because of the countless people asking you every second you’re walking day or night for drugs which I not need to mention but use your imagination.
It just gets tedious after a week and you get fed up of it (unless of course you’re into that) but they can be very pushy and rude.
