We did a round trip from Chamonix to st gervais up to Bellevue down to Les Houches and back to Chamonix. The tram up the mountain offers incredible views of the mountains and snow covered valley. We didn't need to return with the tram as we descended into Les Houches via cable car. The experience of travelling up the mountain... More

Takes about an hour on a pretty hard wooden bench seat but well worth it on a clear day. There are restaurants on the first plateau so you are able to get food and drink. In the summer the train goes right up to the glacier which is interesting.

You will not believe how far it goes. It takes a bit long but surely you will appreciate all the time spent at the last stop. Recommended.

The trip up and down is great, the view and the engineering is spectacular, however the glacier at the top has receded so much that I was disappointed the last couple of times I've been up. The first time I visited was about 10 years ago and the changes are amazing. Incidentally there are some fabulous walks, if you have... More

Visited here yesterday , caught 1.30 tram from La Fayet to Nid d' Aigle (Glacier-de-Bionnassay). The views on the way up (which takes about 1hr10 mins) are absolutely beautiful . Once you reach Nid d'aigle it's breathtaking ! We walked up 580 metres to little Cafe and the views of the glacier were spectacular . Worth every penny of the... More

Very fun to get in this 100 year old tram and go up a very steep mountain to see beautiful views! We took our bikes up and rode down. Views of the glacier was amazing!
