Absolutely one of the best places to view the sunset in a very quiet and tranquil setting. Great place for a nature walk through the trails or a picnic.

This is not your typical old fort visit. The fort was an unique style that suited the terrain and allowed for minimal structural requirements. Our guide gave a brief history of the fort. Ideal stop requiring only a short visit to enjoy the ruins and the magnificent panoramas. It was very interesting to learn about Bermuda's contributions in the world... More

We visited the fort on an island excursion and enjoyed visiting the fort and taking advantage of the phenomenal views from the fort. This is about a 30 minute stop to see everyhing

Nice view of the harbor and in the distance, a view of our ship at King's Wharf. Nicely preserved small fort with brick pavers at entrance but take care on the rock steps up to the gun emplacement.

We walked along the Railway Trail from Somerset to Fort Scaur, where we stopped for a picnic lunch. We sat on our blanket and watched the America's Cup vessels practicing in the Great Sound. Gorgeous from high above! Husband enjoyed the ruins and exhibits related to the "fort" aspect of this park, whereas I enjoyed the plants and flowers. Bring... More

We stopped at the fort on an island tour with Ricky's minibus tours. The fort is very interesting and has a unique design to avoid being taken over. Much of the fort is underground with small windows to the outside in case the fort is overrun.

This is a part of the Bermuda National Parks program, and the views over the Great Sound and Ely's Harbour are spectacular.

there's a bit of history recounted here (including a restored artillery piece that's the only one of its kind), but the real star is the view -- from here there are beautiful views of the waters on each side of the island, including ringside seats overlooking the bay where the America's Cup practices are going on. It was our favorite... More
